Baramulla MG NREGA employees protest against continued fund shortage in Srinagar

Employees of National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MG-NREGA) from Baramulla district of north Kashmir on Thursday held a protest demonstration at press colony Srinagar and demanded the release of pending funds from the government.

Scores of the workers associated with MG NREGA block of Singpora area of Baramulla district assembled at press colony and sought the governor’s intervention in the “grave issue” “We have been supplying material on time and we were assured that the funds will be provided to us on time, but from last two years nothing has been paid to us,” said a protesting worker.
“We are requesting the governor’s administration to look into our grievances’ and release our funds as early as possible,” he added.
