GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL HAS DECIDED TO FIX THE AGE OF TERMINATION 60 YEAR FOR MNREGA EMPLOYEES

ORDER

After careful consideration, State Government has decided to fix the upper age of new recruitment to different contractual posts under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA set-up in the state,at 40 years and date of termination of contract at the age of 60 or the completion of the yearly agreement made before attaining 60 years of age, whichever is latter.

However the applicants fro SC,ST and OBC( A&B) community will continue to enjoy relaxation of age, un case of recruitment as per existing acts, rules and executive orders, 

No yearly contract will be renewed after attaining the age of 60 in case of such contractually engaged employees, However, if the District Programme Coordinator desires to renew such proposal will be entertained after such employee attaining 65 years of age.

Renewal of contract for the engaged retired employees till they attain 65 years of age need not to be referred to the State Government.
